Weirdo Workshop's Louis York Launches the 'Love Takeover Tour'

Progressive R&B Band, with special guests The Shindellas, Kick-off East Coast Tour January 16 in Atlanta.

Nashville-based collective Weirdo Workshop announced today East Coast dates for the upcoming Love Takeover Tour, featuring an unforgettable night of original musical works from progressive band Louis York along with its sister band The Shindellas. The tour offers a genre-bending, colorful musical experience designed to bring together communities and celebrate originality and love. It is traveling to Atlanta, Charleston, Raleigh, Richmond, D.C. and New York this month.

The popular band Louis York is made up of two talented musicians behind some of the biggest names and most popular songs of the last decade. The GRAMMY-nominated songwriters and producers Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony have worked with artists who include Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Michael and Janet Jackson, Celine Dion, Ne- Yo, Rihanna, Toni Braxton and Whitney Houston. As Louis York, vocalist Claude Kelly and multi-instrumentalist Chuck Harmony bring their wealth of talent and experience to the stage for a unique musical experience. The group’s name originates from the band members’ hometowns, St. Louis and New York City.

“People have experienced pieces of us through the lenses of amazing artists like Rihanna, Bruno and Miley. This time around we’re serving up the sound of the weirdos through our own music,” shared Louis York vocalist Claude Kelly.

Joining the tour is new female group The Shindellas, made-up of talented vocalists Stacy Johnson, Tamara Williams and Kasi Jones. The group’s debut single “Reconsider” was written and produced by the multi-Grammy nominated songwriting-production team of Harmony and Kelly. The Shindellas offer a sassy, fun sound, with songbird vocals and harmonizing lyrics.

Weirdo Workshop was created by Kelly and Harmony in response to their frustration with the music industry. Designed to help create a community of open-minded intellectuals who advocate and practice self-acceptance, Weirdo Workshop offers a platform to generate conversation through art, bring together communities and celebrate originality, quirkiness and differences. Embracing the things that make you weird, which are likely your best qualities, Weirdo Workshop advocates: Be a dreamer. Be an individual. Be unapologetically you.
