Nashville based music duo Louis York is set to release new music this October.
Louis York is the creation of multi-GRAMMY nominated songwriting and production duo Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony. The band’s name was inspired by their respective hometowns – St. Louis and New York City. Since their inception in 2015, the duo has created a unique combination of music, art, and culture. They are often described as a cross between Outkast and Earth, Wind & Fire.
Fun fact: Louis York not only writes their own music, but is also known for writing and producing for a long list of music heavyweights, the group have penned hits for likes of Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera, Mary J Blige, John Legend Celine Dion, Jazmine Sullivan, Janet Jackson, and Whitney Houston, among many others.
Kelly and Harmony joined forces to step behind the mic, and have pushed the envelope with their music to include love, acceptance and social awareness. This culminated into their EP trilogy called Masterpiece Theater. The EP included Act I, Act II, Act III, both of which received critical praise from the likes of Billboard and the LA Times. These reviews described their music as an “eclectic mix steeped in hook-driven pop and throwback R&B.”
This coming October, the group is set to release a new album called The American Griots. Their first single, “Don’t You Forget to Remember Me” will release later this summer.
